RoomsNmates is a room and roommate introduction service for adults aged 18 and older. It is not an emergency service, a background-check provider, or a guarantee that another member or property is safe.
Report a concern
Use the reporting controls on a profile, room listing, or conversation. You can also email [email protected] with the relevant account or listing, what happened, and when.
Avoid sending passwords, government IDs, payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive information. Reports are reviewed by the operator; support is not staffed around the clock, and no immediate response time is promised.
If someone is in immediate danger in the United States, call 911 rather than waiting for an app or email response. Leave an unsafe situation when you can safely do so.
Before meeting or paying
- Meet carefully: Start in a public place, tell someone you trust where you are going, and arrange your own transportation.
- Check the property: Inspect it and independently confirm that the person has authority to offer the room.
- Review the agreement: Read the lease and understand payments, deposits, utilities, and house rules before signing.
- Avoid rushed payments: Do not send a deposit based only on app messages, photos, or claims of urgency.
- Protect your information: Do not put an exact home address, identity documents, or financial details in a public listing or profile.
These precautions cannot remove every risk. Decide independently whether a person, property, or proposed arrangement is right for you.
What a profile or listing means
The beta uses a self-declared birth date and email confirmation, not independent identity or age verification. RoomsNmates does not currently perform background checks.
Listing review, an approved listing, a photo, or a future paid badge is not an endorsement or a guarantee of identity, lawful authority, compatibility, property condition, or personal safety. No member should claim otherwise.
Block and appeal
The app's block control prevents new messages between the blocked accounts. Blocking does not erase screenshots or information already received.
To report a moderation problem or appeal a restriction, email [email protected] and identify the account or listing concerned. Reporting, blocking, safety information, privacy requests, and account-deletion requests do not require a subscription.
Community rules
Threats, stalking, harassment, scams, impersonation, doxxing, sexual or child exploitation, illegal content, and unlawful discriminatory housing advertisements are prohibited. Offer only housing you are authorized to offer, and use accurate photos and descriptions that you have permission to publish.
